Attention all crazy cat ladies (and gentlemen). Do you sometimes wish you lived in Japan or on the Mainland where you could visit a cat café and play with feline friends while you a sip a smooth caramel latte? Well, before you pack your bags and buy a plane ticket to Oakland, you might want to check out Neko Café at Mori by Art + Flea. The local South Shore Market boutique has once again partnered up with the Hawaiian Humane Society to bring together three of our favorite things: cats, kittens and coffee. For just a $5 donation, these lovable fur balls are yours to cuddle for 15 minutes. For a lifetime of cuddles, you are, of course, highly encouraged to adopt one (or eight!).
Neko Café is this Saturday, Jan. 28, and includes pastries and coffee from Morning Glass Coffee + Café, feline-inspired products for sale by local designers, live music from local indie band The Maneki Nekos and a fluffy selection of cats available for adoption (on a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure you get there early).
Sadly, the pop-up cat café is open for one day only, but here’s hoping O‘ahu will one day get a permanent spot for endless kitty cuddles.
Mori by Art + Flea at South Shore Market, 1170 Auahi St., Suite 105, Saturday, Jan. 28, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., $5 donation, reserve a timeslot here (recommended).
