If you have ever wanted to pull your hair out when disciplining your child or trying to get them to do something, you are not alone.  Most Hawaii households are busy with dual working parents and children with a full schedule of activities, homework and sports. Jessie Rosenblum, a busy mom with two young children, needed help too.  She was looking to provide a positive, organized, consistent and most importantly, easy way to assist her keiki in making wise choices. 

First on her agenda included getting her kids to make healthy, more nutritious food and snack selections. She started placing a marble in the jar every time they had a serving of fruit or vegetable.  Once the jar was full, the child earned a reward.  Soon, the system expanded to reinforce other desirable behaviors.

However, she didn’t always have a marble on her and found it difficult to keep up with.  She created an app that allows parents to customize a virtual reward system.  The app gives families an opportunity to put candies, treasures, marbles or bugs into a virtual jar each time their kid displays a behavior they want to reinforce.  Once the jar reaches the pre-determined limit, your child is rewarded with whatever the parent sees fit. Treats don’t even have to cost money.

Reward systems are a great way to help keep everyone on track and support good behavior.  They also help to keep parents in check.  However, maintaining the old school reward chart is a daunting chore and is difficult to upkeep.  This new app, makes life simple and is a breeze to use for the parent and child on-the-go.    This parenting app is $1.99 and operates on iPhone, iTouch, iPad and will be available for Droid this fall.  Before you know it, your child will be on their hAPPy way to collecting positive behavior!
