Oyster Obsession at The Kahala

The award-winning restaurants at The Kahala Hotel and Resort have a number of special menus and events for the month of September.

Both Hoku’s and Plumeria Beach House will be hosting a special Oyster Obsession menu within the month of September. Either a set-course option or each of the special menu items are also available a la carte.

Plumeria Beach House will be the first to feature the fresh oyster menu from September 8 through September 14.

The Oyster Obsession 3-course set menu features:

  • an oyster tasting (oyster with soy ginger, namasu confetti, wasabi tobiko; oyster on a half shell with yuzu relish; Hawaiian chili pepper oyster shooter with black lava sea salt);
  • deconstructed "carpet bagger" steak (grilled Angus beef fillet, fresh New Zealand oysters in brown butter, mashed potatoes with bacon, chives, Roquefort cheese);
  • Profiterole banana split sundae for dessert

The Oyster Obsession moves over to Hoku’s from September 22 through September 28.

The 5-course set menu features:

  • a shooter trio (bloody mary, appletini, mimosa);
  • duet of oysters (smoked oysters with pineapple cocktail sauce; bacon wrapped oyster with arugula sauce);
  • oyster po’ boy with shredded cabbage and tomato aioli;
  • creamy oyster bisque en croute with spinach and ham hock;
  • Hawaiian plum "slurpee" for dessert

Plumeria Beach House will also host a special brunch buffet celebrating Grandparent’s Day on September 13, from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The award-winning brunch buffet an array of mouth-watering local favorites and specialty items including: chilled New Zealand oysters; ahi sashimi; ahi and tako poke; delicate thin pancakes; carved prime rib with au jus; sautéed Atlantic salmon with lilikoi-orange beurre blanc; Chef Leigh Ann Seto’s desserts including fruit cobbler, bread pudding, assorted cakes, cookies and sweets.
