Open House Pick of the Week: Renovated Condo with Stunning Ocean Views

As we’ve mentioned before on this blog, locals who want to stay in metro Honolulu but can’t afford the new construction often have to move into older buildings. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though, especially when you see this week’s open house pick.
Hale Kaheka is a building comprised mostly of one-bedroom units, but this is a rarely available two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit, and on the 33rd floor. The owners have lived in the unit pretty much since the building was built in 1982, and recently put in some major upgrades (not knowing they would be moving away).
The kitchen was expanded by six inches, which added a dramatic amount of space, compared to other units. Other features include Silestone counters, stainless steel appliances, designer lights and a custom sink. The spacious living room features custom bookshelves, as well.

One of the best things about the unit, however, is the view from Koko Head to Barbers Point through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

This building gets a Walkscore of 95, since it’s convenient near shopping, dining, gas stations and more. It’s also pet-friendly, as long as the pets are quiet.
