Open house pick of the week: Mililani Mauka

When I first saw the photos for this Mililani home, I thought it was one of those estates in Nuuanu, the kind with an expansive, sprawling yard. If you visit it this weekend, be sure to go outside. (Click here for details.)

“I’ve done many transactions in Mililani, but this one is my favorite. It’s got one of the nicest yards I’ve seen,” says realtor Donna Maier, giving a shout out to the yardman. “It’s well-manicured with El Toro grass, like a golf course. The whole property—house and yard—are in excellent condition.”

The 7,587-square-foot lot seems unusually large for Mililani, plus it has a 715-square-foot lanai that’s great for entertaining. Since it’s a corner lot, there’s no side neighbor, and it’s on an interior street, which means it’s quieter in the neighborhood.

The two-story residence is also spacious, with 2,194 square feet of living area and a versatile floor plan. There are three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, plus a bonus room that can be used for a den, office or fourth bedroom. The upper level features a second living room.

The kitchen has newer appliances (about a year old) and Corian counters. There are woodlaminate floors and new carpet throughout; AHS home warranty is included.
As of this morning, there are only 13 active listings available in Mililani Mauka, ranging in price from $620,000 to just under a million dollars; of these, there areonly five listings in the $700-800K price range. Mililani Mauka is a planned community with parks, rec center, and Schofield and Wheeler military bases nearby.

This home has been on the market just two days, so this Sunday is its first open house, from 2 to 5 p.m. Happy house hunting!
