It's an older home, at 44 years, but has been well-maintained and has new paint inside and out. The design is also a throwback to the late 1960s, but the décor is more classic than dated-with high, A-frame ceilings and equally large picture windows to give you expansive views of the tropical landscaping outside. Kaneohe is generally pretty cool, but the ceiling fans are a nice touch.

Even if you don't stay indoors, the lanai is a great place to take in Haiku Plantation's manicured grounds. It's pretty huge-at 562 square feet-larger than some people's condos.

My favorite element is the lava rock wall in the master bedroom, which makes you feel as though you brought the outdoors inside. It's more of a statement than a normal accent wall, and pulls the Island ambiance together.

The home features five bedrooms and three bathrooms, which includes separate guest or maid's quarters comprising 2,402 square feet. The living areas are all fairly open and flow into one another, to provide an added sensation of spaciousness.
