Open house pick of the week: Kaneohe

Just because you choose to live in a one-bedroom unit, doesn’t mean it has to be small. Well, okay, in metro Honolulu, a 600-square-foot unit is pretty good, luxurious even. In rural areas, however, you can get a lot more for less money.
This one-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom unit in Haiku Village is a spacious 944 square feet—bigger than some two-bedroom units in town. It’s a two-story, open-loft style condo with a little deck and interesting architectural details, so it feels a lot like a single-family home. (Click here for details.)
It was upgraded in 2010, so although it’s an older building (built in 1975), it doesn’t look so dated. You get one covered and one open parking stall with this unit, so entertaining is easier.
The amenities of the property are pretty good: there’s a pool, a barbecue area, a clubhouse, a meeting room, a rec room, and a walking/jogging path. The area itself is convenient to the shopping, restaurants and theaters nearby, and near to the town-bound freeways. Oh, and pets are allowed, but I’m not sure of the weight limit.
It’s the only unit available in Haiku Village and will be open this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Happy house hunting!
