Open house pick of the week: Hawaii Loa Ridge

Most homes on Hawaii Loa Ridge are large, with contemporary designs, but this one has been fully remodeled with an East-meets-West, traditional-meets-modern interior that caught my eye. (Click here for details.)
When you look at it from the outside, it’s just another nice Hawaii Loa home; inside the 2,901-square-foot space, the clean, geometric contrasts give it a more stylish ambience not seen in many Hawaii homes.
The first thing you see are the 15- to 20-foot ceilings on the first floor that make the open plan seem much larger than it is.
The most outstanding room—at least, for me—is the brand new Snaidero kitchen with sleek lines and unusual track lighting. It looks a little like something out of The Jetsons, except when you’re cooking or washing dishes, you get a lovely ocean view.

There are four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, one of which is Japanese style but has a Jacuzzi and Italian fixtures.
The lot is 8,137 square feet, so it’s got a huge yard that has enough open space for you to add a pool. This might be a good option if you want to do a lot of outdoor entertaining, especially since the huge deck has sweeping views of East Honolulu.
Happy house hunting!
