Before I talk about this week’s open-house pick, I should set it up with some background: The Peninsula at Hawai‘i Kai is a gated community with 69 nonwaterfront, single-family homes called Carriage Ways residences. Within this section of homes, there are three models, and “Plan 3” is the largest and most desirable of them.

This week’s pick is a fully upgraded Carriage Ways Plan 3 home, which also happens to be on the largest lot of any of the models in the neighborhood. It’s also located almost at the tip of the peninsula itself, which makes it even more appealing.

The lot is a gigantic 6,056 square feet, and the two-story home is a spacious 2,330 square feet. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms; one bedroom and one bathroom are located on the first floor for additional convenience in long-term planning.

The residence is fully upgraded with new paint, stucco siding, a tile roof, a 27-panel photovoltaic system (owned), central air conditioning, high ceilings, plantation shutters, high-grade wood laminate flooring, and granite and marble counters. The original owner has maintained the place pretty well, so it shows like a model home.

The community itself is like a resort, with two swimming pools, a gym, a barbecue area, numerous parks, playgrounds and a boat dock.

This home will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1. Click here for details.

Happy house hunting!
