Open house pick of the week: 1350 Ala Moana

It’s funny with condos—they go through periods where there’s absolutely nothing available, even if you beg; and times when it seems like there’s a wealth of available units. Such is the case with 1350 Ala Moana, which is right on the corner of Ala Moana and Piikoi.

If you want to look at a number of open houses at once, you might look at 1350 Ala Moana. One of the units I looked at recently is this one listed by Doug Shanefield of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, which has such an amazing view of Ala Moana Beach, you feel like you’re leaning into the park when you stand on the balcony. It is listed at $631,000 fee simple. (Click here for details.)

This spacious condo unit has been renovated with granite, Corian, new bath fixtures, and new paint. This particular unit has extra storage, including a walk-in pantry worthy of a single-family home.

I’d also like to see this unit listed by Shirley Judge of Prudential Locations for $725,000 fee simple (click here for details). Judge previously lived in the building for about 30 years, so she knows it well and can tell you about the ins and outs of the condo, as well as the “hidden” garden in the back. This particular listing is on the 29th floor and has an amazing view.

Judge’s two bedroom, two bathroom listing has newly remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. Whereas the standard units in 1350 Ala Moana have two tubs, this unit has been outfitted with a full walk-in shower. The kitchen has been enlarged and has Corian countertops with maple cabinets.

That’s just a sampling of properties you’ll see in the building this weekend. Fourteen are available, not all are open, but you’ll get a good sense of the building when you see them.

If you go to check out the open houses there this weekend, you can park along the front driveway (security can tell you where the designated area is) or walk from Ala Moana Center.

Happy house hunting!
