Nominate an Outstanding Individual for HONOLULU Magazine’s Ola Pono Awards

The Ola Pono Awards were developed to honor outstanding individuals who volunteer their time and talents to make our islands a better place. These honorees are passionate about their communities and exhibit true compassion for the people around them. Through their actions, big and small, they continuously strive to help others.
Please submit all nominations by Sept. 6. All nominations will be read by a panel including community members from aio media, HONOLULU Magazine and Hawai‘i Community Foundation. Notifications will be made by the end of September. Chosen profiles will be included in HONOLULU Magazine’s January issue.
Eligibility
A community member of any age living in Hawai‘i.
Criteria
Persons being nominated for this award will have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion and service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities. The activities/events or service listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee’s job description or duties and the individual cannot receive any monetary or personal benefits from his or her involvement.
Judging Criteria

The degree to which their services/actions have made a lasting or meaningful contribution or impact on their community – 40%

The length and degree of their service(s) – 20%
-
The extent to which their service or action might be considered above and beyond the call of duty – 20%
-
The extent to which their action would be recognized and valued by their peers/community leaders – 20%
