Nice price, new space in Foster Village

Realtor Diane Mosier knows what kind of work went into her new listing in Foster Village. After all, she helped the owners buy it six years ago.
It's an older home, but the owners put at least $50,000 into renovating it to make it modern and comfortable. Now that they've got an empty nest, it's time to downsize. (Click here for details.)
Outside, the front door was redone to look more attractive-previously, it was simply flush to the wall, so the house looked like a box. The sloping back yard has been leveled out, so now the entire 6,181-square-foot lot is useable.
Inside, the upstairs has wood laminate flooring and the first floor has travertine. The original living room area was somewhat small, so they enclosed the lanai to create a family room that runs the length of the house.
The original kitchen was small, with cabinets that made it look old. It's now redone with contemporary cabinets and granite counters, and sports brand new GE Profile stainless steel appliances, a new Bosch dishwasher and a $6,000 PrimQ water treatment system.
There are four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in this 2,260-square-foot home; despite all the space, the bedrooms are smallish due to the era in which they were built. These are still in original condition, but the downstairs bathroom has been renovated to match the rest of the house.
"They were in process of getting an electrical permit so they could put in central air, but you really don't need to do that because the area is so cool and breezy," Mosier says. "It's also in a cul-de-sac, so it's off the beaten path on a quiet street."

The list goes on, but you can ask Mosier about it when you see her this weekend; the home's first open is on Sunday, December 18.
"If you compare homes that sold in this area recently, you'll find that this one is also a good value," she says. "In this market, there's a wide difference in the prices so it's hard to tell. But by comparison, a home sold recently for $680,000 and it had three bedrooms and only 1,400 square feet. So you get a lot more home for the money, plus this one has some nice renovations."
