Dress in your best mu‘umu‘u, holokū or aloha attire—the third annual Mu‘u at the Museum at Hānaiakamalama (Queen Emma Summer Palace) celebrates Mu‘u Month as well as Queen Emma’s 188th birthday. This year’s theme, “Where East Meets West,” honors the influence of Chinese culture in Hawai‘i. Tickets ($85–$150) get you entry into the museum and a fashion show by the Mu‘umu‘u Library, along with heavy pūpū, entertainment and the chance to shop local makers. And don’t miss the showstopping fashion contest.
