New Tonight: Barter Bar (Sponsored)

Sometimes you have to go old school to find a fresh idea. Tonight, a new event aimed at helping small (and even not-so-small) businesses get ahead goes back to a centuries-old practice.

At 7 p.m., the first Barter Bar kicks off at The Fresh Café. The idea is simple: Walk in with a service or product to offer and see if you can trade it for something your business needs. Maybe you’re a web design guru and you need a landscaper. Or perhaps you’re a badass baker and you need a handyman. Or maybe you’ve just got a stash of electronics you want to trade for a haircut. Throw in a few cocktails and you’ve got a networking event like no other.
