Cozy and oh-so-cute, Miemiko and Co.’s new Ward space is an open invite to a world of special-occasion must-haves.
Owner and designer Cari Nakanishi started her letterpress journey in 2005, successfully selling everything from greeting cards to wrapping paper online. Fast-forward nine years and her dream storefront is now a reality, housing the designer’s creations and the work of other local talents that she loves.
Nakanishi and her husband designed the space to feel winsome but functional. Whitewashed shelves brim with stacks of colorful, patterned wax-paper favor bags, locally made greeting cards by Emi Ink and Doodlipoop, and the designer’s own cards, including her gold-foil Diamond Head print.
Fun, little curiosities, including mini pom-pom flower pins from L.A.-label Ban.do, and spools of Italian ribbon and thread, wrap up the store’s mix nicely.
