Death by Scrapbooking

After years of building a following via the pop-up market scene, Death by Scrapbooking now has a sweet little standalone shop, nestled between Small Kine Gift and Shop Toast in Kaimukī. Along with craft supplies and activity kits, owner Stefanie Ontai stocks the shelves with adorable finds, from stationery and lei charms to stickers and home goods. The shop also hosts workshops with local makers.

Pitacus Chop Art

One of our favorite sources for upcycled fashions, Pitacus Chop Art, has moved to roomier new digs in the Mō‘ili‘ili Community Center. Located in the space formerly occupied by the Hidden Treasures Thrift Shop, the boutique is nearly four times larger than its previous Kaimukī spot, which means designer Lisa Weimken can display even more of her one-of-a-kind unisex fashions and curated vintage pieces from Japan. Pitacus will also be coordinating community events to be held in the building’s upstairs event space, including workshops, pop-up markets, artist showcases and more.
