New Moon Collective and About The Goods Collab

These tees and hats give a nod to French designs.

Ooh la la, France. The land of Champagne, Marion Cotillard and Chanel. How can one country be the source of all of our favorite things? Too bad we’re a couple of continents and a language barrier away from Parisian paradise.

We’ll settle for the Français-inspired style of these cool, contemporary pieces from the Moon Collective and About The Goods collab, released this month. Inspired by the clean, graphic designs of European perfume labels, the two brands decided to capture that minimal je ne sais quoi with their cache of casualwear. The new collection’s tees and 5-panel caps have French and English lettering with a sleek, san serif font and understated layout. Furthermore, that precious Eiffel Tower image on one of the designs is too cute for words (well, the French may have a word for it).

The modern style is a perfect fit for the two brands. McCully-based About the Goods is a hip crew of artists, DJs and fashion connoisseurs who are all about underground culture, while Moon Collective has renewed our joie de vivre with clever graphic totes and tees. We say oui to the two coming together with these new trousseau staples for Honolulu’s urbane urbanites.

J’adore. (Pardon our French.)

$30 for hats and tees, available at About The Goods, 930 McCully St., #203, 949-9492. Open Monday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
