Most Wanted: September 2012

Lei Chic

Now that fall is officially upon us, the Lei Chic team decided it was time to turn over a new leaf with brand new headshots. We wanted photos that were stylish, sophisticated and utterly professional.

We are serious journalists, after all.

And, thanks to some amazing finds at the Curiosity Shoppe at Target (see Stacey's first pick below), we achieved our goal.

Because when it comes to fashion, we mean business.

Lei Chic Stacey
Style Description: If Jonathan Adler and Kate Spade had a love child (okay, Simon Doonan can come along) – Preppy casual with a color explosion.

Lei Chic The name alone will entice you and the products will surely delight you at the Curiosity Shoppe, a new "visiting" line featured at The Shops at Target. With fun, clever items, like our stylish mask set, retro kitchenware and amusing business supplies (check out my new coin purse-turned-business card holder), this San Francisco-based brand is oozing with awesomeness.
Coin purse $5, mask set $10, Target, 4380 Lawehana St.

Lei Chic Fourteen designers, one fashion house and a whole lotta area to cover. Hermès' new wallpaper collection features the artistic vision of some of the most talented artists to date. Inspired by the brand's signature scarves of yesteryear, bold stripes, oversized links, jungle life and more can liven up your bathroom wall or jewelry drawer.
Price upon request, order through Hermès, Ala Moana Center, (808) 947-3789.

Lei Chic I've taken the menswear trend to an all-time high with this Alternative Apparel men's henley. Soft, extremely comfy and made from eco-sustainable heather, I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a guy's shirt.
$32, Roberta Oaks, 19 N. Pauahi St.

Lei Chic Brie
Style description: If Marc Jacobs married Zoey Deschanel – Feminine fashion-forward silhouettes with a vintage spin.

Lei Chic I was already a fan of Mindy Kaling from her quippy portrayal of Kelly Kapoor on The Office, but after reading her latest book "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)," I've become a full-fledged Kaling worshipper. The biography chronicles her journey from chubby kid to successful writer/producer and is filled with witty recollections of both awkward and awesome life moments.
$14, available on Amazon.com.

Lei Chic Further fueling my growing polka dot obsession are these happy little Built NYC numbers that I stumbled across while scouting for an entertaining story. Made from insulated neoprene, they're perfect for transporting your wine to and fro, and also make fantastic gifts.
$17, Red Pineapple, Ward Centre.

Lei Chic Terri
Style Description: Classic, clean lines à la Kate Middleton with a pop of Rachel Zoe. Constant quest for the perfect fitted jacket and heels.

Lei Chic It was love at first sight when I spotted Wonderland Denim's new floral print kimono at Homecoming Boutique. Beautifully draped, effortlessly chic and extremely comfortable, this baby keeps me warm whenever there's a slight chill in the air (or office).
$65, Homecoming Boutique, 1191 Bethel St.

Lei Chic Estee Lauder's Violet Underground eyeshadow palette is hands down one of the most stunningly gorgeous palettes I've ever seen. It's also one of the most versatile, with two electric shades, two neutral shades, and the perfect smokey black. My biggest problem, really, is forcing myself to ruin its beautiful lightning-embossed design.
$48, Nordstrom, Ala Moana, or online.

Lei Chic I first picked up Momofuku Milk Bar's compost cookie mix at Williams-Sonoma. The results were good, but I knew I could do better. So I got my hands on Christina Tosi's cookbook and baked a few batches of blueberries and cream cookies. Rave reviews all around! I'm sticking with the book, but if incredibly labor-intensive recipes aren't for you, give the mixes a try.
Mixes, $16.95, Williams-Sonoma, Ala Moana Center; cookbook, $35, R&D, 691 Auahi St.

Lei Chic Christi
Style Description: Wants Michael Kors, Giuseppe Zanotti, and Phillip Lim to live in her closet (even though some of them have already come out) – Accessories addict with an urban tilt.

Lei Chic Present giving is like a professional sport in this office, so it's no surprise I love the Delusions of Grandeur earrings that Brie, Stacey and Terri picked for my birthday. The playful colors feed my orange and blue obsession, the geometric shape is fun and since they're acrylic, they're light enough to wear all week long.
$48 Vertigo earrings by Delusions of Grandeur. (Were they trying to tell me something with the name of this line?)

Lei Chic I love to cook and two little tools make life much easier in the kitchen. My garlic chopper gets the tedious task done just by rolling the little R2D2-esque gadget twice across the counter. Then, when I'm getting ready to stir it up, a lid holder means no messy rings on the stovetop.
Chef'n Garlic Zoom Chopper, $14.95, Williams-Sonoma, Ala Moana Center; Progressive spoon and lid holder, $25.99, Executive Chef, Ward Warehouse.
