Mikinola opens Hawaii Kai boutique

East Coast Style

Mikinola Reasons to drive out to Hawaii Kai:

• Hike up a ridiculously steep mountain.
• Snorkel with fish.
• Stock up at Costco (admit it, it's way less chaotic out here).

Now add "Shop at Mikinola" to the list. Because at 10 a.m. today, the popular traveling boutique officially became a full-fledged brick-and-mortar store.

You no longer have to scour pop-up shopping events to find owner Dara Fujio and her stylish selections. Just stop by Koko Marina Center and you'll get the same well-edited mix of local and mainland lines, like Tiare Hawaii, Gillia, Khush Clothing, Mink Pink, Audrey 3+1 and Lush, while pawing through an awesome sales rack and $20 bins.

Only now, you'll have the luxury of a bright, well-decorated space to enjoy them in. Think impeccably-dressed mannequins in the window, floating shelves touting embellished clutches, and dressing rooms covered with custom-made, embroidered curtains from Thailand. Fujio also added an entire glass case filled with local jewelry lines like B. D'Angelo, Pure Joy Adornments, Katrina Cordova and NattoLee Jewelry.

Mikinola Plus, you'll have full access to Fujio herself, who can help you style the perfect outfit, whether it's a bold, printed DVF-like Vierick dress and Ladakh blazer for work, a blush lace bodycon Mink Pink dress and Bardot cropped tuxedo blazer for date night, or a perfectly slouchy Goddess Wing pocket tee and floral print Motel Rocks jeans for the weekend.

Best of all, she'll remember what you buy and help you build a well-rounded wardrobe based on your previous purchases and tastes.

Leave the bulk buying for your Costco run.
