Whether you were lucky enough to score tickets or will be watching it on TV, expect beautiful performances like this rendition of “‘O Kilauea Noho Lulu” by kumu Chinky Mahoe’s halau Hula o Kawailiula, from last year. (Kawailiula won first place in the men’s kahiko division with this performance, and also placed first overall.) For more information on the festival, visit merriemonarch.com, and check out our sister publication MANA Magazine, which will be covering the event in person. welivemana.com.
