March Monday Dinners at Du Vin

Every Monday evening, Brasserie Du Vin presents an informal prix-fixe three-course wine dinner for$49 (plus tax and gratuity).

Here’s a look at March’s Monday menus:

March 1 – Mediterranean Musings

First course
Mediterranean mussels steamed in roasted garlic veloute (sauce)

Second course
Bronzini (Mediterranean Sea Bass) stuffed with roasted tomatoes and Meyer lemons, over herb-infused wild rice

Stellar Bay oysters (British Columbia) served on the half shell with a lychee mignonette

March 8 – Asian Accents

March 22 – Very Blueberry

Maple-braised pork belly with blueberries and a mint-almond slaw

London broil, blueberry mustard demi glace, brabant potatoes and caramelized onions

Blueberry tart, blueberry crème anglaise topped with buttermilk gelato
Paired with Graham’s 10 Year- Old Tawny Port, Douro, Portugal

March 29 – Nutty for Peanuts!

First course
Roasted quail, boiled peanuts, pickled grapes, crostini and fried plantain
Paired with Famega ‘Vino Verde,’ Minho, Portugal, 2008

Second course
Grilled Shutome (swordfish), horseradish foam and wasabi peanuts
Paired with Tandem ‘Van der Kemp,’ Pinot Noir, Sonoma Mountain, California, 2006

Third course
Foie gras torchon (poached), candied peanuts, toast points with a blackberry coulis
Paired with Royal Tokaji ‘Red Label,’ Hungary, 2005

On Monday, March 15th,  Du Vin will be closed for a private event, so no pairing dinner will be offered that week.

Seating starts at 6:00 p.m. and reservations are recommended. The three-course dinner is also available without the wine pairing.

Du Vin also has two other weekly events it’s Tuesday Tastings and Sessions at Du Vin every Wednesday.

Wine Tasting Tuesdays

The schedule has been set for March 2, 9 and 23 (March 16 and 30 t.b.d.) The Tuesday Tastings event is a casual and affordable way to learn about different wine makers and varietals. Du Vin changes the themes of the tastings weekly.

The tasting is offered for $20, which includes tastings of 6-8 different wines and a cheese and fruit platter. A half-off appetizer menu also available to wine tasting guests. Seating starts at 6:00 p.m. and is limited and reservations are required.

Sessions @ Du Vin Wednesday

Sessions @ Du Vin is a showcase of live, local musicians every Wednesday at the restaurant. There is no cover to come and listen and the performers change weekly with music starting at 7:00 p.m.

Here’s the schedule for March:

  • March 3 – The Stewart and Chris Jazz Duo. Featuring Stewart Cunningham on piano and vocals
    and Chris Roth on upright bass. Musical interpretations of American standards, big band jazz classics,
    along with contemporary music.
  • March 10 – The Hotclub of Hulaville. With the talented Sonny Silva, his band and Ginai. A crowd
    favorite, presenting Gypsy and European jazz, along with classic American jazz and show tunes.
  • March 17 – Bernardo and Rogerio. On this St. Paddy’s Day, these two Latin musicians will bring a
    bit of the Irish to the night. Salsa, samba and other high-energy music.
  • March 24 – Dennis Wilson Quartet. Featuring Dennis Wilson on trumpet and coronet, Danny
    Caparoso on Jazz guitar, Chris Roth on bass and Ethan Capone on piano.
  • March 31 – Michael Tannenbaum and Nick Gertsson. Presenting an evening of jazz, slack key
    guitar and Celtic-inspired tunes.
