Luxury in the middle of Waikiki

When I think of living in Waikiki, I think of high-rise units the size of hotel suites, at best. Not so with this contemporary top-floor unit in the Lofts at Waikiki, located right on Launiu St., off the Ala Wai in the middle of the action. (Click here for details.)
The Loft is a newish luxury condo, built in 2008, comprising just 36 units. The top-floor units have 15-foot ceilings, which make them look extra large. This end unit is 1,099 square feet, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Since the building is so new, there haven't been any renovations, but there are added improvements, such as the built-in Murphy bed and desk in the second bedroom. The rest of the stunning architectural details, believe it or not, were already standard features of The Lofts.
The gourmet kitchen with Sub-Zero/Wolf appliances, granite counters, hardwood floors and plantation shutters are nicely done and provide contemporary ambience. It's almost like a luxury oasis in the middle of Waikiki, since it's unusually quiet on Launiu.
The unit comes with two oversized covered parking stalls, central air conditioning, and a host of amenities including a 65-foot lap pool, a landscaped courtyard with barbecue area, and-get this-a little doggie park on the first floor. It's not just pet-friendly, it's a pet haven.
For the convenience and size, it’s a good value for under a million in Waikiki. And it’s open this Sunday if you want to check it out.
