Why do I feel bloated after eating?
Though usually not indicative of a serious condition, bloating is nevertheless uncomfortable and can interfere with a patient’s quality of life. Since the list of possible causes for bloating are endless, it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact cause as each person’s case is different. However, bloating can often be associated with types and quantities of foods we eat. Our digestive system cannot always handle the complex and varied foods that we put into our body and, as a result of poor digestion, the gut bacteria react by producing gas with resulting discomfort and distention. We do have certain diets that focus on reducing this process and can be effective in managing symptoms. For some motivated patients, the results can be significant.
