Liliha Bakery Opens in Macy’s at Ala Moana Center in Early 2019
The iconic bakery’s third location will be in the space vacated by The Pineapple Room.

Liliha Bakery, the beloved 68-year-old bakery famous for Coco Puffs and those addictive poi mochi doughnuts, will be opening its third location on the third floor of Macy’s at Ala Moana Center by February 2019.
The bakery will be moving into the 8,500-square-foot space vacated by The Pineapple Room, which closed in July 2017. It will be modeled after the Nimitz location, with a bakery section (where The Pineapple Room had its pastries and bar on the Diamond Head side of the space) and a dine-in restaurant that will seat more than 135 patrons, says Angela Choi, who works for the bakery’s parent company, Yummy Restaurant Group.

This location will serve all of the bakery’s favorites, all baked on site. The restaurant’s menu will be similar to the one at Nimitz, with old-fashioned hotcakes, oxtail soup, kim chee fried rice and hamburger steak.
The area where the bakery will be located will also have some casual seating, with a bar serving dessert drinks and cold-pressed juices, Choi says. The bakery will also have use of the event space.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Liliha Bakery’s sweets to our customers at Macy’s Ala Moana,” vice president store manager Demmis Cisneros said in a press release. “Bringing them into our store will attract both locals and tourists, giving everyone who comes into the store a chance to experience [the bakery’s] delicious Coco Puffs, pineapple rounds or poi mochi doughnuts while they shop.”
