Let Us Eat Cake
The Honolulu City and County celebrates its 100th birthday this month in delicious fashion: by baking the largest birthday cake in Honolulu’s history. Local bakery The Patisserie will be assembling 100 normal-sized white cakes into a single, huge one. At 15 by 18 feet, and four inches deep, the finished product will be big enough to feed 10,000 people, and everyone is invited to enjoy a slice at Honolulu Hale (530 S. King St.).
The event is one of the last in a yearlong commemoration of the county’s centennial. Last November, as part of the celebration, HONOLULU Magazine published a list of Honolulu’s 100 most influential citizens. In case you missed it, the feature is still available here on our Web site.
