Lei Chic's gift ideas for Will and Kate's new royal baby boy

Prince of Wails

Royal Baby Gifts

Okay, so he wasn't wailing. In fact, when Will and Kate carried their newborn out of St. Mary's Hospital this morning, he was picture perfect.

No, the screaming came from the throng of reporters and bystanders camped outside… and us. (What can we say? It was a momentous occasion.) To celebrate, we packed a virtual gift basket filled with goodies for the future king.

Here's to the new prints charming.

[1] To find an outfit fit for a prince, we headed straight for a princess. The eponymous Marie-Chantal children's boutique is helmed by the Crown Princess of Greece herself. The good news: you don't have to have royal coffers to shop here. Right now, the store is holding a major clearance sale on its spring/summer collection, plus all sale items are an additional 10 percent off. Elastic waist trouser, $49, baby Godfrey cashmere jumper, $65, collared shirt, $40. Marie-Chantal, DFS Galleria Waikiki, (808) 931-2700.

[2] Wimini's hand-printed Diamond Head onesie playfully adorns one of Hawaii's most iconic landmarks with a royally cute diamond and top hat. Even better for baby, the local line uses super-soft 100-percent organic cotton and water-based ink. $28, WiminiHawaii.com.

[3] We couldn't resist adding this huggable Baby Perlette stuffed frog from French toymaker Moulin Roty. $16, Marie-Chantal, DFS Galleria Waikiki, (808) 931-2700.

[4] We can see the little guy sporting Love+Monsters' preppy, nautical-themed keiki booties on a leisurely family sail. Kalihi designer Richie Calizar has temporarily stopped taking orders, but mention "Lei Chic" and she'll gladly make you a pair. $25 for sizes 0-4 months and 4-8 months, $40 leather soles for sizes 8-12 months and 12-15 months, orders accepted via email.

[5] Considering Will and Kate's love of Africa (the couple got engaged in Kenya), they'll surely cherish Bitty Bambu's Wild Life burp cloths. Not only is the colorful set emblazoned with zebras, bold chevrons and stripes, there's also a crown embedded in one of the patterns, perfect for that tiny king of the jungle. $15 for set of two, available on Etsy.

[6] Sure, he may live in a palace, but we suspect the prince will prefer camping out in Lucky Boy Sunday's Favourite Place knitted playhouse instead – a plush little hideaway with its own doorway and windows. $308, Petit at the Royal, The Royal Hawaiian, (808) 921-2125.
