What: Visit Maya Bella Boutique at its new home on Hekili St. (a few storefronts down from Pualani Kailua and across the street from Foodland) and you'll notice some big changes, literally. The shop is now double the size of its original location with an expanded keiki section featuring Bitty Bambu and Malama Baby, and a new home and body area filled with yummy Bungalow Glow Hawaii organic coconut butter body lotions, soaps, soy candles, even pet shampoo. Bonus: there are now three dressing rooms in the back with one roomy enough to fit mommy and stroller!
Where: 111 Hekili St. #108.

Room for Desert
What: Savor a Latin spin on local ingredients when Cactus hosts a five-course tasting menu as part of its Farmers' Dinner Series. This time around, owner and executive chef John Memering utilizes fresh fare from Hanohano Heeia to serve up dishes like Samoan crab in a hominy and crab broth spiced with guajillo chiles and spicy grilled octopus with crispy ulu confit. (Read more about the dinner on Biting Commentary.)
When: Thursday, seatings begin at 6 p.m.
Where: Cactus, 767 Kailua Rd.
Details: $65 per person, $95 with wine and cocktail pairings for each course. Reservations required. For more information, call (808) 261-1000 or click here.
