Largest ever survey of prints by British icon David Hockney goes on view at HoMA
(Partner Content) Opening at the Honolulu Museum of Art on Nov. 17 is "David Hockney: Perspective Should Be Reversed, Prints from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation"

David Hockney (British, b. 1937). In the Studio, December 2017. 2017. Photographic drawing printed on paper, mounted on Dibond. Edition of 25. ©David Hockney assisted by Jonathan Wilkinson.
See more than six decades of prints, collages and photographic and iPad drawings by one of the most influential artists of our time. Highlighting some of Hockney’s most celebrated series and individual prints, the exhibition presents a wide range of styles, from his earliest 1950s etchings to his 1960s LA swimming pools to huge landscapes done during the pandemic. Honolulu residents who miss Hockney’s installation L’Enfant et les sortilèges at Spalding House will love this show full of riotous color, inventive style and technological experimentation.
The works in the show are from the collection of philanthropist Jordan Schnitzer, who takes the stage of Doris Duke Theatre on Nov. 17 at 7pm, along with Hockney friends Kimberly Davis of LA Louver Gallery and Doug Roberts, to discuss their relationships with the artist and strategies for collecting. Reservations can be made here.
