Kini Zamora’s Reach the Runway Benefit Fashion Show at HONOLULU Fashion Week
Doing good never looked so chic.

Sorry, this is a restricted area—oh, excuse, me. I obviously didn’t mean you. You’re a VIP if there ever was one. In fact, just to show you how very important we think you are, I’m going to give you this special backstage pass so you can get a look behind the scenes at one of our most exciting programs, Reach the Runway. And talk about exciting: That program is pairing up with one of Hawai‘i’s hottest new style celebs for a HONOLULU Fashion Week benefit fashion show that’s going to be a real showstopper.

If you haven’t heard the buzz from that side of the curtain, Reach the Runway is the official nonprofit of HONOLULU Fashion Week. Created in partnership with Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui’s REACH Out Hawai‘i Initiative, the program creates mentorship opportunities for O‘ahu middle school students who are interested in the realm of fashion, including hair and makeup, journalism, photography, fashion design, magazine design, styling and modeling. In fact, some of our mentors are playing center stage at HONOLULU Fashion Week (happening this weekend!), including designers Allison Izu Song and Rumi Robertson.

Reach the Runway’s class of 2015 wrapped in October with a trio of sassy, smart and stylish sample magazine covers that bring all the students’ skills and mentors’ teachings together. You can check out the Reach the Runway creations at the event, but we’re going to steal the scene with a sneak peek for Lei Chic. We are loving the ethereal and boho-chic look of pretty MIXX, and the energy on Lusso is a real scene-stealer. Plus, those edgy threads and vibrant colors on Icon? Talk about all-access sass.

For a really grand finale, the Reach the Runway kids are coming to HONOLULU Fashion Week to catch the action themselves at some of our hot shows, including Zamora’s benefit. And, if his sexy show last year is any indication, you’ll want to make sure you’re there to see this rising star turn out a sure-to-stun presentation. Plus, it all goes toward a good cause.
Can we give that a standing ovation?
The HONOLULU Fashion Week presented by Hawaiian Airlines Kini Zamora Benefit for Reach the Runway show is happening on Friday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. Visit Eventbrite to purchase tickets. Go to honolulufashionweek.com for more information on the event.
