Kini Zamora Spring/Summer 2018 Fashion Show at ‘Iolani Palace

Hawai‘i designer Kini Zamora thrilled fashion fans with Kini Zamora at the Palace, a glamorous runway show at ‘Iolani Palace on Saturday, October 21.

The evening kicked off with smaller presentations by local favorite Manuheali‘i, Hinano and swim brand Anu Style, designed by 14-year-old Keanuenue DeSoto. The finale presentation, which showcased an impressive 50 looks from Zamora’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, included a seemingly endless array of fresh twists on palaka, a nod to the traditional fabric of Hawai‘iʻs plantation past. Zamora transformed the traditional checked style, playing with scale and opacity to create everything from smart cropped trousers and flowy high-low skirts to point d’esprit-trimmed dresses and shimmering, floor-length gowns.
