KaiKini Bikinis: New Boats and Stripes Design

You’ll want to barge in on these locally designed and highly durable bikinis.

Not to start a row, but we think your bikini’s ready to abandon ship. After half a summer of diving, dipping and cannonballing nonstop, those strings are on their last legs. And, as much as the thought of it tugs at your heart, it may be time to face the wind and set sail for something new. Luckily, we’ve got just the thing to bail you out of your dilemma: KaiKini Bikini’s new boats and stripes design, which debuted this month.

Why does this new one float our boat so darn much? Think of it as a breath of fresh air from summer’s tropical prints, a nautical departure from the latest floral/palm trend, which will really set you apart on the beach. This design pairs two patterns: sweet and subtle sailboats flitting across a white background, and a classic black-and-white pencil-stripes design. A lace-up back, strappy front details and sexy cheeky bottoms complete this cute-as-can-be swimwear ensemble.

’Kini-obsessed KaiKini creator Taryn Rodighiero launched the brand on Kaua‘i four years ago as an answer to her own prayers for a never-ending supply of super cute, super durable, super comfy swimwear that didn’t leave any room for embarrassing nip slips. A couple industrial sewing machines, a lot of trial and error and good, old-fashioned patience later, she’s pumping out the ’kinis for retailers and customers across the world. Now, the KaiKini team has grown, releasing new designs every couple of months, and is looking to the future with plans of expanding to beach blankets, cover-ups, rash guards and wet suits. Not to mention the brand plans to seek out more exposure at trade shows and with more retailers, while still emphasizing high quality, Hawai‘i-made products.

Now that is a tight ship.
