The Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation invites you to EAT THINK DRINK: The Future of Food and Friendships, How Government, Business and Community Can Work Together on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, 6 to 9 p.m. at The Modern Honolulu.
Presented by Hawaiian Airlines, Eat Think Drink will explore how the government, business and community are working together to move the needle on food sustainability throughout our islands. Hawai’i is a grower’s paradise, boasting nutrient-rich soil, a consistent year-round climate and an extensive history in self-sustainable farming. This quarterly series brings leading minds together to spark a conversation on the unparalleled opportunity the next generation has to revive our states’ food independence.
To kick off the evening, keynote speaker Senator Donovan Dela Cruz will share the vision behind the Whitmore Project; how he is working with private industry and the community toward revitalizing Whitmore Village into a viable agricultural hub in Wahiawa. Featured panelists Myra Kaichi, Senior Executive Assistant of Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture’s Agribusiness Development Corporation and Stephanie Whalen, Executive Director of Hawai‘i Agriculture Research Center will later add to the conversation.
