John Heckathorn Memorial Cocktail Fundraiser

Drink some of John Heckathorn's favorite cocktails (Old Fashioned, Manhattan and Smile) at a memorial fundraiser this Sunday. Cocktail sales, tips and silent auction proceeds will be donated to a scholarship fund* in John's name at Hawaii Pacific University, where he joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the fall.

Dave Newman, president of the Hawaii chapter, says "We hope to raise $10,000 (the minimum threshold to establish a named scholarship) for an HPU scholarship in John's name through a series of events. Ultimately, however, this event is held to celebrate John's life. Donations, even if they fall short of the goal, will be given to HPU's journalism department."]
