Island living in Kaneohe

At the end of July, I wrote about a three-bedroom townhouse at Puu Alii in Kaneohe, which sold in mid-October for $6,000 above its list price. With the market on Oahu so tight now, it’s easy to imagine why well kept properties don’t last long.

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse, also in Puu Alii, was just listed last week. What I really love about these units are the 20-foot high ceilings in the living area. It makes the space feel so airy and open.

The 977-square-foot unit features Koa cabinets in the kitchen, along with a pass-through into the dining area, making it convenient when entertaining or to keep the conversation flowing when guests are mingling at a party.
The owners had new carpeting installed and gave the place a fresh coat of paint, so you can forgo multiple trips to Home Depot and focus on moving in and where your aunty’s armoire looks best.

The lanai, off of the living room, offers tranquil views of Kaneohe Bay and Koolau mountain range and seems like a perfect spot to enjoy an afternoon cup of tea with a book.
The maintenance fee, which covers cable TV, sewer and water, is reasonable at $606 a month.

The Puu Alii community covers more than 55 acres. You can take your pick of outdoor activities from three pools, two tennis courts, a jogging path and a large park-like grassy area. The property has a resident manager and 24-hour security, plus there’s a picnic area with tables you can reserve for family gatherings or parties.
The townhouse comes with a one-car garage with room to park a second car in the driveway. Guest parking is also available. Click here for details.
