Honolulu Boutique Shop Dogs

Store Spotlights: The Barky Bunch

They guard some of the chicest gear in town. Meet the doggies in the windows of your favorite Honolulu boutiques, waggly tails included.

Nacho, Homecoming
Human: Emilie Fuji, owner

Pug Life: Being named after Nacho Libre turned out to be prophetic for this pug, who wrestles with shoppers’ shoelaces daily and struts around in flashy gear, including a skunk costume and a Hawaiian-print clown collar.

Guy, Oliver Men’s Shop and Olive Boutique
Human: Parker Moosman and Ali McMahon, owners

Safe and Hound: Ever the dutiful watchdog, Idaho-transplant Guy has been known to leave one shop, trot down the street to check on the other, and stealthily slip back.

Hana, Surf Garage
Human: Toru Yamaguchi, owner

Ruff Rider: This golden-retriever-lab mix adores the beach, accompanying Yamaguchi on stand-up paddle sessions and hanging-eight at Bowls (her favorite surf spot).

Moose, Crooks and Castles
Human: Alex Wong, manager

Pup Star: Just 6 months old, this tiny French bulldog is already king of the Castles, ruling over in-store games of fetch and acquiring loyal subjects via his adorable Instagram feed (@moose_crooks).

Kea, Fishcake
Human: Betty Lee-Kuehara, manager

Homeward Bound: A rescue dog from the Big Island, poi pooch Kea inspired the shop’s pet section, filled with cool, designy finds such as training aprons and drying towel mittens.
