HoMA Gift Shop Dedicated to Major Philanthropists Gulab and Indru Watumull
The Watumulls have provided “endless support” to the Honolulu Museum of Art for decades.

The Honolulu Museum of Art dedicated its gift shop in recognition of the years of generous support by Gulab and Indru Watumull. In a celebration last week attended by more than 100 family members, friends and museum trustees, the Watumulls were honored for their philanthropic generosity.

“I can’t express enough the gratitude and appreciation all of us at the museum have for this wonderful family,” said Museum Director Sean O’Harrow. “Indru has tirelessly served for 33 years as a trustee helping us collect, preserve and present outstanding art. Gulab has similarly provided endless support to the museum’s efforts to showcase art in Hawai‘i. Together, they are outstanding examples of generosity and community support.”

The gift shop was chosen as a fitting dedication in view of the remarkable retail history of the Watumull family in Hawai‘i.
