Hiz and Herz
Him: Have you seen my pinstriped shirt?
You: Got it.
Him: Hey! And that’s my denim vest. What else do you have up your sleeve?
You: Your Burberry tie makes a great belt for my shirtdress look.
Him: Why is it you have an entire closet of clothes but you still keep stealing my stuff! You already destroyed my fav aloha shirt I’ve had since high school.
You: Looks great as a handmade tunic doesn’t it? Don’t get hot under the collar. Grab something from my side of the closet.
Him: So you figure since you’re dressing like a guy, I should put on a dress? The guys at the office are still making fun of me for the time I called someone’s shirt a blouse!
You: No really. I just picked up some pieces from celeb hairstylist Richie Miao’s line Lovelessizm. The line is a hit in Asia, and the full collection has just recently gotten to Hawaii.
Him: Wait, Lovelessizm is a men’s collection.
You: Not any more. Miao has some touches with men and women in mind. There’s a basic white button-down shirt that can be rebuttoned with a cowl neck insert and waist cinching details. Or you can try the split-back vest I wear open so it falls softly in folds. You can button up both sides just under your chin, for an edgy urban feel.
Him: So I don’t just have to male it in. What about the colors? Don’t think I’ll get tickled pink.
You: Lovelessizm is done completely in black, white and grey. Hurry up and get dressed. We can catch the debut of Miao’s newest collection tonight with a special fashion show. We’ll even be able to pick up a couple of outfits I can borrow from you.
Him: I’m already liking that new pinstriped vest that laces up. Add on a dinner out, and I’ll give you the shirt off my back.
You: I’m already wearing that tomorrow.
Lovelessizm’s fashion show is tonight, 7 p.m. at Ala Moana’s centerstage. Shop at the reception to follow in the HIFI pop up store next to Hilo Hattie’s on the ground level or e-mail lovelessizmhawaii@gmail.com for a private showing.
