Here’s What’s Opening Next in Honolulu: May 28 Update

Beauty salons, skate parks, dog parks, the Honolulu Zoo, Wet’N’Wild Hawai‘i and more have all set opening dates based on Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s latest Restore Honolulu order.

It’s time to emerge from behind those too-long bangs, shaggy locks and faded dye jobs—salons are officially reopening on O‘ahu. Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s latest emergency order allows more businesses to welcome customers starting Thursday, May 28.

Shops, spiritual services, outdoor fields and others were allowed to welcome back people in the past few weeks. Now, the next wave of businesses and activities are those that are considered medium risk, such as outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people. That means you and your friends are finally allowed to go to the beach together without having to stay 6 feet apart from one another. (But no indoor gatherings yet—those will be allowed starting June 5.)

Though many places are now allowed to operate, not all of them are ready. We checked websites and social media to find those currently scheduled to reopen. If you are reopening soon, email your business name and opening date to katrinav@honolulumagazine.com to be added. Here’s a running list of what is scheduled to reopen on O‘ahu:
