Heavy Metal

You don’t go out with just any arm candy. You insist on head-turning looks, bold style and an intriguing background.

And that’s just for your jewelry.

You’ll meet your match in Misa Jewelry, designed by Punahou grad Misa Hamamoto. Her 14-karat gold vermeil and sterling silver earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings are modern, geometric pieces that echo the shape and texture of porous coral and other elements from her island home.

Based in L.A., Misa left her career in investment banking to start making jewelry, a passion ignited in a high school metalworking www.leichic.comclass. Made by hand-dripping a wax mold, then casting the metal pieces one by one, Misa’s creations range from large, striking teardrop earrings and wide-band rings, to sleeker, organic-looking cuff bracelets and necklaces.

Combined with semi-precious stones like labradorite, moonstone and amethyst, or a dual-tone finish, each of her pieces is a miniature gold or silver sculpture, cast as one continuous shape, with no sautered edges or seams.

Sounds like just what you’ve been looking for.
Gorgeous and interesting enough to hang around you.
