Hearts and Stars salon releases new hair-care line

Beat It, Bad Hair Days

If there’s one thing we learned from the Billboard Music Awards (other than J.Lo doesn’t age and Kendall and Kylie are the coolest Kardashians), it’s that true star power doesn’t fade. Because that epic posthumous Michael Jackson hologram performance was out of this world.

Now we’re super inspired to tap into our inner rock star—starting with our ‘do. First order of business: Pick up Kona-based salon Hearts & Stars’ latest hair-care collection. The name is an homage to salon founder Jason Harsin’s first love, rock 'n' roll—he played in a band signed to Capitol Records and has worked with major musicians including Weezer and the White Stripes.

Made using a line-up of paraben-free, natural ingredients—including avocado oils, tea tree, lime, chamomile and aloe vera—the products are especially designed to battle humidity and exposure to the sun and ocean.

Shampoos and conditioners headline this ensemble in luscious tropical flavors such as lilikoi and citrus, with pomade, smoothing serum and hairspray playing back up. Experience the products solo or go for a jam session with a trio of shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Just what you need to take your 'do from "Bad" to "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)."

Hearts & Stars products are available online at hearts-and-stars.com, $15–20.
