The biggest news in affordable fashion since the opening of H&M in Waikiki earlier this year is—yet again—about H&M: The popular European brand is heading to the West Side.
Construction on Ka Makana Alii, an open-air shopping mall in Kapolei, is slated to begin later this year, with H&M opening in 2016. This is only the second Hawaii location for the store, so if the Waikiki grand opening (to which 3,500 shoppers flocked) was any indication, it’ll be a huge hit. After all, HONOLULU readers voted H&M the Best New Thing in Honolulu this July.
We covered Hawaii’s first H&M with an inside look at the store two days before the public had access, including photos and descriptions of where to find everything from Elle-inspired looks to trendy ensembles. We also shot the opening (while snagging some great finds for ourselves) and talked to local girl Rebecca Wong, who, as the regional expansion administrator for the company’s West division, got to fly home to help bring it all together.
You can expect us to be at the front of the line again come 2016. Stay tuned for what other great giveaways we just might pull out of our chic bags.
