Hawaiian Airlines Launches Stylish New Uniforms and Island-Inspired Menu

We just wanted to know, who gets to wear the cape?

Hawaiian Airlines, our hometown company that still offers free meals on all Trans-Pacific flights, today debuted fresh fashion and food on its flights. Turns out the cape is available as outerwear for flight attendants.

A new main cabin meal program launched Dec. 1 for its North American routes and new uniforms by Hilo-based designer Sig Zane also debuted across the network. The stylish uniforms were first unveiled at HONOLULU Fashion Week last year.

The new food service is being launched as the airline prepares for the roll-out of its new fleet of A321neo aircraft early next year.

Wade Ueoka of MW Restaurant is the airline’s latest featured chef to come aboard. His meal cycle runs through June 2018 and includes Island-inspired dishes such as a cold tofu salad with kim chee, watercress, kaiware sprouts, a yuzu kosho vinaigrette appetizer and a ground beef and Portuguese sausage meatloaf with home-style gravy, sautéed mushrooms, potatoes and kale entree.
