Hawai‘i Rep. Ed Case Wants Your Opinion on President Trump’s Impeachment Inquiry

Democratic U.S. Rep. Ed Case says he wants to hear from residents about what he describes as “my most difficult issue ever: the potential impeachment of the president.”
Case, who represents District 1, urban Honolulu, says he sent out an anonymous survey through Survey Monkey because this issue is so important. He says he’s asking residents to comment on the impeachment process, along with their age range and the region they live, to help guide him on his decision-making.
The Hilo-born attorney was elected to Congress in the last election after being out of office for 12 years. From 2002 to 2007 he represented District 2 in Congress, which covers rural O‘ahu and the Neighbor Islands. He chose to not run for reelection so that he could try for the U.S. Senate. He lost each time he ran for U.S. Senate.

Earlier in this term, Case did not favor a formal impeachment inquiry because he questioned if Congress had sufficient information and grounds for that serious step. However, he says disclosures since then raise serious questions.
He wrote: “I am deeply grateful for your guidance, and assure you that in addition to this critical matter I remain focused on forging that better way forward for your country we all seek as well as helping our Hawai‘i and you and yours whenever and however I can.”
