Hawaii HomeOwnership Center’s open house workshop

This Sunday, the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center is holding a free open-house workshop and tour to help jump-start the process for first-time homebuyers, and there are still a few seats left.

The tour will explore homes in Ewa and Kapolei in the $200,000 to $400,000 price range, from 1 to 5 p.m. During the tour, participants will be educated on preparing to buy a house. Exposure to the properties will give them a hands-on look at what considerations need to be made when looking for a home.

“Our first bus tour was last year, when we went through properties in Kapolei. We did another one in February, in Waipahu,” says program director Reina Miyamoto. “We just announced this morning that the next tour will be in August; however, no specific date or area has been determined yet.”

There are just a few seats open for this Sunday’s workshop tour, but you can call 808-523-9500 or email info@hihomeownership.org to make a reservation or get more information.

Although The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center’s focus is to substantially increase the number of successful homeowners by reaching out to low- and moderate-income families who never believed they would become homeowners, the center serves any family, regardless of income.
