Have your own private floor in the Ala Wai Plaza Skyrise

Usually, the option to have a private floor with your own elevator in a condominium is offered in an expensive penthouse unit. This two-bedroom rental, which just became available, has all of that exclusiveness, but it’s only on the second floor.

The Ala Wai Plaza Skyrise has seven one-bedroom units in each floor, and one two-bedroom unit, all sharing a common area to the elevators. The elevator hallway to suite 200, for some reason, is securely blocked off from the rest of the second floor. So if you need to access via the elevator, you need a special key.

The unit itself is 2,000 square feet with two large bedrooms, two baths, and two full-sized covered parking stalls. Given the space of such a condo, the expansive living room features a study nook and hardwood laminate floors. There is also generous storage space within the unit, which is a premium in metro Honolulu!

The rent includes water (yes, even hot water) but you pay for the rest of the electricity that you use. Also, the building will allow you to have a cat—sorry, house rules say no dogs.

It’s got easy freeway access and is close to schools, golf, shopping, and the university. People looking for privacy and convenience will snap this one up quick; given that the rental market has been fairly tight in recent months, this blog post may already be outdated.
