Goodwill Goes GLAM! Returns with an In-Person Celebration of All Things Fashion

(Sponsored) The charity’s annual shopping event is back at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, Aug. 18 through 20, with a fashion show, secondhand steals and feel-good giving vibes.

Are you ready for secondhand scores, local fashion and more? The 2022 Goodwill Goes GLAM! presented by Bank of Hawai‘i Foundation returns to the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall this year after a two-year hiatus, kicking off with a gala and fashion show on Thursday, Aug. 18, and one of Hawai‘i’s largest secondhand pop-ups from Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 20. The three-day fundraiser will feature secondhand designer fashions, accessories, housewares and one-of-a-kind items donated by the community, all offered at bargain prices.

Tickets to the 2022 Goodwill Goes GLAM! Gala and Fashion Show can be purchased online for $25 or at the door for $30. Guests will be treated to this year’s GLAM! Fashion Show, hosted by kumu Micah Kamohoali‘i, owner and designer of the Island-born Dezigns by Kamohoali‘i in Waimea, Hawai‘i Island. His for-GLAM!-eyes-only runway show, “The Art of the Holoku”, features curated Goodwill finds that have been upcycled into Hawaiian-style ball gowns worn by stylish ladies in the 1900s. After that, guests will have first dibs on Goodwill Goes GLAM!’s best secondhand items—clothing, accessories, home goods and more—which will be available for the general public to shop online and in-person Friday and Saturday with free admission and free parking at McKinley High School.

Each year, Goodwill Hawai‘i uses proceeds from Goodwill Goes GLAM! to continue its mission to help the state’s disadvantaged population find meaningful employment. With more than $400,000 raised in 2019, Goodwill Hawai‘i was able to assist more than 10,000 individuals with job training, counseling and placement programs statewide.
