The Tail of Emily Windsnap, by Liz Kessler
The Tail of Emily Windsnap, by Liz Kessler, was a “swishy” book, says Devyn enthusiastically. Swishy means “awesome” in mermaid talk. Emily Windsnap is a young girl who doesn’t fit in very well at school. One day she finds out she is a mermaid when her legs turn into a tail during swimming class. Emily finds out that she is half mermaid and half human. She sneaks away to find an underwater world and goes on an exciting adventure to find her merman father. She meets a girl who becomes her BFF and helps solve a mystery in the end. It’s a fun book and Devyn couldn’t wait to finish all of the Emily Windsnap books.
The other books in the series are Emily Windsnap and the Monster from the Deep, Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Midst, and Emily Windsnap and the Siren’s Secret. You can find these books at your local library or add them to your keiki’s collection by visiting amazon.com.
