Fresh Beginings at the Kahala

Start the new year with healthy dining and wellness activities at The Kahala. The theme for this month’s promotions is  "Fresh Beginings" and includes a couple of fun and delicious options for both cooking and eating wisely in the New Year.

On January 23rd, The Kahala’s executive chef Wayne Hirabayashi hosts a cooking demonstration on just that topic. Join him in the Waialae Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for "Healthy Hawaiian Kitchen With Chef Wayne – A Culinary Class Of Healthy Dishes."

Chef Wayne will show you how to prepare a variety of wholesome and delicious meals

The cost to participate is $50 (excludes tax & service charge) and that fee includes the demonstration and a special healthy lunch.

In addition to this special cooking class, both Hoku’s and Plumeria Beach House have a healthy eating option when dining in throughout the month.

Daily through January 31st, Hoku’s will have available a "Fresh, Pure, Simple" – Hoku’s Healthy Platter

The Healthy Platter entree features local and organic vegetables steamed, grilled, wok tossed and baked for $20.



 Over at Plumeria Beach House, there are a number of healthy options for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Chef Wayne’s Healthy Breakfast

Offered daily from January 1-31, 6:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., Chef Wayne’s Healthy Breakfast features an Acai bowl, special recipe V12 juice, vegetarian egg white omelet with brown rice for just $15.

Healthy Lunch Selections

For lunch (daily from 11 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.), Plumeria Beach House’s healthy lunch selection includes a Tempe wrap with soy glaze, brown rice, organic avocado, tomatoes, corn, vege-naise, and your choice of acai berry smoothie or Borba water (flavors include acai berry, pomegranate, lychee, and guanabana) for $15.

Healthy Dinner – Simply Grilled Or Steamed

Plumeria Beach House’s Healthy Dinner (daily from 5:30 – 10 p.m.)  includes a simply grilled Or steamed Fresh Pacific catch served with local organic vegetables and brown rice  for $22.

Chef Greg’s Healthy Choice Buffet Dinner

On Friday and Saturday nights in January, Plumeria Beach House will feature Chef Greg’s Healthy Choice Buffet Dinner with their normal buffet.

Specially marked with the Kahala logo, healthy dining selections include: vegetarian lasagna; grilled fresh island catch with tropical fruit salsa; grilled chicken with pico de gallo; grilled oysters 3 ways; vegetarian brown rice; grilled fresh island catch with yuzu salsa
