1. A lava wall, covered with lush roots and vines, surrounds this 1832 church. Founded by Rev. John S. Emerson and his wife, Ursula.
2. This alii church is comprised of 14,000 coral blocks—each weighing about 1,000 pounds—cut from local reefs. It opened in 1842 after five years of construction.
