Edgy goes dainty in new B. D'Angelo jewelry
Split Precision
Corset dresses for skinny days and baby dolls for bloated nights. Lace-trimmed chemises for your first sleepover and his cotton boxers and a T for your 20th.
Most women stash a split personality in their closets.
You do too. In the office, you have to be a little bit country club. But you’re all rock n’ roll after hours.
Finally, there’s a line of jewelry for both worlds.
B.D’Angelo is the new collection by recent Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising graduate and Mililani High School alum Marissa Beatrice. The 21 year old began making bead jewelry for craft fairs in high school. Now she’s heavy into metal with the line named after her grandmother; a woman she never met but who’s style she emulates.
That classic feel mixed with Beatrice's edgier influences translates into dainty and delicate brass skull earrings and bracelets. There are tiny pyramid–shaped studs in sterling silver that match beautifully with a light chain, pyrite bead-and- feather bracelet. Or you can go dramatic with skull earrings featuring a feather drop.
Beatrice carves her metal-casting molds out of wax by hand, and solders the rest in her home studio in Mililani. So she is constantly switching things up to add new inspirations to her B.D’Angelo line. And almost every piece is priced below $100.
Meaning you can afford to satisfy your inner punk, and still dress like a brass act.
B.D’Angelo is sold through its Etsy shop. In stores the line is exclusively at Fighting Eel, 1133 Bethel St., 808.738.9300.
